A Little Bit About Me
I’m an accountant now, but it wasn’t always this way. Prior to going back to UCF for my accounting degree, I spent time working in the family business. It was there that I found my passion for doing business – something that I had not thought of before.
Prior to that, I was not yet sure what I wanted to do. I focused on my strengths in science and dabbled with chemistry and even a little computer science before finally settling on a microbiology degree. After attending some grad school and working in the research lab, I realized the monotony of the job did not fit my personality.
Working in the family business gave me lots of flexibility, allowing me to further my education – both secular and religious. When not at work, I spent time learning Tajweed at the local masjid and I even had the opportunity to teach summer school for a few years, which helped me grow closer to my community.
I have spent most of my life in Orlando. My family moved to the United States from Trinidad when I was about 9 years old. I have one brother and one sister, both of whom are married. We remain close, often having dinners or attending events together and sometimes meeting up with our cousins to hang out or play board games.
Spending time with family is one of the many things I enjoy. I also like watching sports, mainly football and basketball. I often attend local events, such as art festivals, religious lectures, plays, and conventions. I also enjoy travelling. I have recently been to the Grand Canyon and last year I was able to perform hajj.

What I Am Looking For
I consider Akhlaq (character) to be one of the most essential traits. While the five times daily prayer is a minimum, I am looking for a Muslima who has fair dealings with others and can find the good in each situation. My ideal partner would have a fair balance between this world and the hereafter – someone who can deal with jokes, yet be serious at times.
